Down and out in Midtown West

For the first time in 9 years I am not working below Houston street. In fact, I've been stationed up at the border of hells kitchen and no mans land.  This is not good for lunch options. While it's best to pack your own, it's still fun to explore. Aside from the occasional Thai lunch special and chewy udon noodles in a styrofoam cup-see what else you could find up 10th avenue here:
Bis.Co.Latte. A totally charming cafe that specializes in Biscotti. They even have vegan biscotti! I had the almond/coconut and pumpkin/chocolate chip.
Luscious pumpkin soup topped with black rice and pumpkin seeds and served with an actual fresh piece of bread. They have a nice magazine library and sweet staff there too.
Chana Saag from Punjabi Tadka. A typical cabby place that I think used to be vegetarian. Kind of greasy, but satisfying.  Of course if time permits and you have less of a hike there is Kyotofu, Zen Palate, and Juice Generation too.
A note on bars: I like these Kit's Organic bars. Similar to Larabar's but less nutty (less protein too though).

There are a lot of place to eat in Hell's Kitchen. Let me know if you would like a list of great places to check out.
