Fall is officially here in New York, and what better way to say good bye to warm days then with a
paleta? I stopped by the
Hester Street Fair for
La Newyorkina's famous paletas. Because it was their last day,
paletero Fany Gerson was giving out two for ones.
The Bandera (Mexican Flag): Avocado, Coconut, and Strawberry

My complimentary
paleta de coco fresco, check out the chunks of coconut!

I am so enamored with Fany Gerson's
book on Paletas. There is nothing quite like the sublime activity of licking a paleta under the warm
Mexico sun. I want to recreate that feeling here in my Brooklyn apartment with
paletas de aguacate.

The ever versatile avocado! Blended with water and sugar and frozen in a cute rocket shape mold. I can't wait to make more delicious treats from this beautiful book.
