Chinatown, I seldom visit you. When I do, a hint of magic appears beneath the grit. Vietnamese food expert and friend
Elicia picked out some great authentic places on a midweek night.
Pho Grand for
Mango Sticky Rice. I always thought Mango Sticky Rice was Thai, but it is served at Vietnamese restaurants as well. Sweet sweet sticky rice topped with mango and coconut and some little candied something.

Shopping for candy at
New Kam Man.

Elicia hand models
Gingko Semen Lily Bulb Granules (!)
Thai Son for
Bun Cha Gio. One of my new favorite things to eat. Vermicelli noodles topped with shredded lettuce, peanuts, and chopped up spring rolls (and obligatory sriracha ).

I've definitely not done enough exploration of Chinatown... Seems like there are so many hidden gems to uncover!
I just bought a ton of stuff at our chinatown over the weekend. I don't know how I am going to eat it all! I couldn't pass up the fried gluten in a can.
I will do this again with you anytime! Including the hand-modeling!
When you launch your food tours, please sign me up! This all looks wonderful.
