TNT...

Trees Not Trash is an amazing project that transformed an empty lot in Bushwick into a community garden space. The visionary Kate w/ her lovely assistants.
I incorporated the variety of gorgeous TNT grown tomatoes (heirloom, roma, beefsteak) into a pignoli-pesto- brown-rice pasta salad.

Yeah for Trees Not Trash. The city could do better in developing and promoting urban gardens and green spaces. I'd love to be involved! I've been growing vegetables on my roof all summer. It's therapy for me. These are Bushwick peppers: http://lh6.ggpht.com/tjbroockerd/SMZ-_xeUm5I/AAAAAAAAAFs/gCEbPvyfCM8/s576/BushwickPeppers.jpg

There is a great children's book about a community garden called "City Green" by Dyanne Disalvo-Ryan. The first time I read it to B he didn't understand why people didn't just have their own gardens...
