Pizza Party

Even those of us who follow a "diet of discipline" can enjoy comfort foods such as pizza, at least at Pala. Named after the wooden peel used to sling pizza in and out of the oven, Pala offers crust made of 9 different organic whole grains (risen for 72 hours) and soy cheese (one with casein, one without). They also have gluten-free crust composed of potato, tapioca, barley, & chic pea flour.
Pala is located in the lower east side, conveniently near Babycakes (if you have room for dessert!)

Megan chows down:
My gluten-free friend and I shared the following. The crust was amazing, they have really got the science down:

"Mediolanum" w/ soy cheese, asparagus, and tomato sauce.

"Pesto y Patato" w/ soy cheese, basil pesto, and potatos. Thin-sliced green tinged potatos w/ a pretty basil leaf on top.

Happy Birthday Mindy!

Mm, pizza! Minneapolis has some kick-ass vegan pizza, too. It is such a treat.
