What lengths will I go for cupcakes and ice cream? This Saturday, Wheeler's Black Label conducted a tasting at Sweet Avenue Bakeshop. A meeting of two legends. After some trial and error, Andrea and I boarded the NJ Transit for Rutherford. Sweet Avenue Bakeshop is a darling little bakery that prides itself on it's wide variety of cupcakes, included are some of the most imaginative and decorative vegan cupcakes I have ever seen. They survived the bus ride back into the city and we happily devoured our Fluffer Nutters in Port Authority.
Sweet Avenue Cupcakery: Oreo, Fluffer Nutter, PB &J, Black & White.
We were fortunate enough to speak w/ the man behind Wheeler's vegan ice-cream. He shared the dedication and process that goes into each painstakingly crafted flavor. The freshness and quality far surpasses any sort of store purchased non-dairy frozen dessert. Here is a breakdown of the samples: Chocolate Sorbet, Margarita (w/platinum petron tequila), Black Russian Chocolate chip, Mounds, and Peanut Butter (my fave).
Jake & Danielle Vance-proud owners of the best little cupcakes in New Jersey.
All signs lead to Rutherford, not to be confused w/ East Rutherford!
Andrea, having some post dessert falafel at Enginar.
thanks Tim for the extra pic!
